The death of the actress Norma Jean Mortonson, who under her stage name Marilyn Monroe is undisputedly one of the megastars of the 20th century, still puzzles journalists and criminologists all over the world. Did the mentally fragile star really take her own life? Or was she not rather the victim of a high level conspiracy involving President Kennedy?
On August 5, 1962, Monroe is found dead in her apartment. The result, later described by critics as a “remarkably sloppy postmortem”, reads: “Probably suicide by taking an overdose”. And yet there are strong indications that someone took advantage of the Hollywood icon’s reputation for having episodes of depression. |
